ilcs Indonesian Language and Culture Service

ILCS offers three program packages to ensure participants’ needs pertaining to Indonesian language and culture comprehension. They are:

1. Short term program

This is a 3 month program of language learning which comprises three courses, they are: Indonesian Language for Foreign Speaker (40 hours), Cross Cultural Understanding (60 hours), and Tourism (optional with extra charge as listed in the Tourism fees table).

In this program, participants will study: 1) reading (understanding short functional Indonesian texts); 2) writing (basic Indonesian sentences); 3) speaking (basic expression in Indonesian); 4) listening (basic Indonesian commands). Participants will also stay with a host family and exchange cultural experiences in classroom environment.


2. Medium term program

This is a 6 month program of language learning which comprises three courses, they are: Indonesian Language for Foreign Speaker (80 hours), Cross Cultural Understanding (120 hours), and Tourism (optional with extra charge as listed in the Tourism fees table).

In this program, participants will study:

  • reading (understanding Indonesian popular articles)
  • writing (Indonesian letters)
  • speaking (using Indonesian for daily conversation)
  • listening (understanding Indonesian dialogues)

Participants will also stay with a host family and exchange cultural experiences in classroom environment.


3. Long term program

This is a 12 month program of language learning which comprises three courses, they are: Indonesian Language for Foreign Speaker (160 hours), Cross Cultural Understanding (190 hours), and Tourism (optional with extra charge as listed in the Tourism fees table).

  • writing (articles and reports)
  • speaking (giving opinions and arguments)
